In honor of the Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver tonight, I thought it appropriate to share this gem of a clip from one of the 10 best Winter Olympics movies ever made, Cool Runnings. In this scene, Yule-Brenner helps provide young Junior with the confidence, and pride, he needs to stand up to the evil, and just plain rude Swiss bobsledders. What follows is one of the 10 best international bar fight scenes ever seen on screen. Also please note the fantastic sweater Junior is rocking.
I’d have to say Coke gets the award for “My Favorite Super Bowl Commercial,” simply for the fact it stars C. Montgomery Burns and a plethora of other characters from The Simpsons… though I thought they only drank Buzz Cola. Prepare for the water cooler and check out all the Super Bowl ads here. By the way, the Saints beat the Peyton Mannings 31-17 and Mardi Gras has officially started on Bourbon Street.
Last night FOX celebrated 20 years of The Simpsons, probably my all-time favorite family outside of my own, real or animated. Directed by Super Size Me‘s Morgan Spurlock, it was actually a quite enjoyable special. But the best part had to be Moby declaring his bafflement of and love for the “Mr. Plow” song. He’s even done 7 remixes of the song. Oh look, here’s one now:
Remember the TV show Gargoyles? One of the best cartoons in history if you ask me. Been watching Season 1 the past few days and it’s spectacular. I forgot how beautiful detective Elisa Maza is.
